Memorial Choral Scholarship Program
With deep gratitude to the Hallberg Foundation and other private donors, we are able to offer choral scholarships to college students who sing with our FCC Chancel Choir. These “choral scholars” contribute greatly to our choir program by providing secure musical leadership, adding energy and enthusiasm as well as their vocal talents. They, in turn, receive experience and knowledge in church music and performance, build relationships with church members, and receive a small stipend to help with their education. Many church choir directors were recipients of church choral scholarships before their first directing positions (Dana Lobaugh and Johnny Maples among them!) Numerous churches in this area provide such scholarships, so there is a bit of competition for the best students. For more information about the Winker Choral Scholarship, to make a contribution, or to apply for a scholarship, contact Dana Lobaugh at or 817-277-2634.
