Singing in Worship and Choir Update

YES, We will SING our praises to God in worship!

With the ingenuity and creativity of choral professionals, guided by scientists and researchers, we are singing together again! According to the latest guidelines for singing during the pandemic, we safely can sing together in the same room for limited sessions, as long as we continue careful practices of wearing masks and physical distancing. It’s not the same as before, and won’t be for a while, but Thanks be to God!

One way we can lessen the danger of spreading the virus through singing is to limit the singing time to 30 minutes indoors and 60 minutes
outdoors, then allow time for the air to clear any aerosols that were exhaled. Masks greatly reduce droplets, but filter only some of the aerosols, depending on the fit and materials of the mask.
(If you’re interested in results of scientific studies, here’s a good starting point: https:// organizations-to-commission-covid-19-study/.)

All that said, WE WILL SING IN WORSHIP together for the latter part of the service. Halle-halle-halle-lu-u-jah! (We’ll definitely be singing that song together!)
Chancel Choir will resume rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8 p.m. beginning June 2. If you’re interested in singing with the choir, please contact me at 817-319-9481 or . I look forward to hearing joyful voices singing in harmony once again!
